This introduction to R is based on the R Basics¹ Dodona course by prof. dr. Lieven Clement² and his team. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the development of the R Basics course, from which we were able to build our adapted introduction to R, modified towards the course of Statistical Modeling and Data Mining. The R Basics course in turn was developped based on the first part of the e-book Introduction to Data Science³ authored by Prof. Rafael Irizarry, Department of Data Sciences at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Department of Biostatistics Harvard School of Public Health.
